When our President is out and about traveling on the world stage he isn't just President Obama; he's the President of the United States of America, who just so happens to be Barack Obama. He's the personification of the grand ole USofA and all the we stand for. That's why the following video disturbs me so much.
No American, from the President to the freakin' mumbling crazy homeless guy on the street, bows to any monarch. The whole reason for our country's very existence because the founding fathers rejected the King and decided to form a nation where 'All men are created equal'.
Obama's greeting of the Queen was wholly appropriate. He made an exaggerated nod of the head, as if to say "Yes, you are the leader of your country, I am the leader of my country. We're equals." That's the way it should be. However, he practically pops a vertebrae bending over to bow to the King of Saudi Arabia. He not only debased himself, but every citizen of the United States, by showing subservience to that foreign potentate. That's just plain disgraceful.
