Did you know that BGE is paying Home Depot and Costco to discount the price of compact flourescent light bulbs? While this seems like a nice, friendly gesture, to pay for this they've added a surcharge to your monthly bill. Whether you actually purchase a bulb or not, you pay for this discount. Not only that, BGE has paid out far less than they've charged their customers so this is making them a rather large, multi-million dollar profit and all with the blessing of Gov. O'Malley's Public Service Commission.
